Wearsheis: postpartum during Covid-19

New year, and wearsheis.com is back with a mommy makeover. The past two years has had its ups and downs with Covid-19, and bringing a baby into this environment has been more stressful than it would without a pandemic. This is my postpartum experience so far. I’ve been dealing with what I would call a mild touch of postpartum depression. Although I don’t feel overly sad, these past few months have been a challenge. I feel like I’m still recovering from labor. Although  Mia “popped right out”….it was painful and no one talks about the healing process when you leave the hospital. Breastfeeding exclusively is an amazing bonding experience with my baby, but it can be very taxing. I sometimes feel like I don’t have control over my own body, and I haven’t had a “good night’s rest” since Kenzie was born. I knew bringing home a newborn with a toddler would be an adjustment, but I didn’t think it would be this hard. When I look in the mirror, I don’t recognize myself and it saddens me that I haven’t “snapped back” yet, or if I ever will…..but then I think of what God has done for me, and my family. He has given us two healthy, beautiful girls who I know will be lead by God. I would do anything for them. My body went through amazing things for them to be here, and I am learning to love the new me. My love for my children exceeds any word that I can come up with. When I feel sad, I know joy comes in the morning. I remember that I am a daughter of Christ, and although I am not perfect, I serve a perfect God.

  • I’m back! I’ve been away from WearSheIs for way too long. I’m enjoying married life so much (wedding day blog post coming soon!) today I wanted to share my new fav curly hair clip in extensions from curly heaven hair. These extensions match my hair so well, the no one could tell I was wearing extensions! Since I have pretty thick hair, I purchased the Sambi clip in extensions in 220g. They were around $250, and worth every penny! They are great, if you want to add a little length and body to your natural hair! https://www.curlyheaven.com

Issa Wig

IMG_5956Processed with VSCO with a7 presetMy hair has been growing and is super healthy right now. So no, I did not bleach my hair. I would never lol. But I wanted to see how I would look if I did. I like the way this color looks on tan-medium to deeper skin tones. I bought this wig from amazon (my favorite site in the world). I was inspired by Rita ora and Kim K when she was platinum. The wig is synthetic and was 20 inches before I cut it. I also cut the hairline of the wig and brushed them down to look like my natural baby hair. It was a little difficult because my own hair kept peeling through. Overall, this was a fun experimental to look. My mom hated it, but everyone knows how much I love this switch it up! My goal this summer is to buy super cute, and super cheat outfits! So far, almost all of my apparel items have been from sellers on Amazon! This two piece, was only $17. It’s really comfortable and versatile. I like to wear the outfit together, but you can wear the top and bottom sepertaley. It even comes with a cute thin belt that ties around the waist.  The link is posted below! Get to shopping!!!
